I'll bet the house that the Ducks and Sharks don't make it to the Finals, so that leaves the Kings, Blues, and Hawks as the three teams with the best shot out west.

Yup. Pretty bad analysis. The Hawks are a bad matchup for the Kings, but besides that, the Blues could have easily beat us and I think they played better than us that series, we just ... whatever you want to say, got the lucky bounces, etc.

They were being wise guys.

That only makes sense if the "sheeple" could see the poll results before voting, which they couldn't.

I think part of it is how good the Blues have looked this year, the moves they made at the TDL, and the fact people are tired of the same old, same old Cup contenders.

No doubt in my mind the ducks will be there before the kings. I agree that San Jose will be bounced first round

Maybe, I just don't see their regular eason play transitioning to playoff hockey.

Been wrong before though.

I know money talks with Callahan and the cap will be going up so contracts will start to grow but in my mind paying a heart and soul guy 7 million a year is a vast overpayment. Also it could hurt the Sabres down the road if they want to pull in a big free agent when we might actually be good in a few years. I'd be surprised if we got Callahan unless he really just wants to be paid and doesn't care at all about winning...

Blues scored 10 goals in 6 games against the Kings in their PO loss last year, including that ridiculous OT winner in game 1. they scored 6 against the Kings in a 4-game loss the year before. Miller was an upgrade in net for sure but i don't see where the Blues addressed their biggest playoff need: putting pucks in the net.

Yeah I had the Blues penciled in as very strong contenders before they landed Miller.

So Ek, why didn't you mention that the Leafs were tied for 3rd with LA at 7%. Why not just say St. Louis, Chicago and Toronto. I think the Leafs have as much of a chance as the so called mighty Kings. I think if the final came down to LA & Toronto it would be Leafs in 6.
